Last week, uPATCH's CTO and Design Engineer, Bart van Oorschot and Maarten Smit, attended the launch event of CipherX Technologies's pain-free tattoo technology. During the event, attendees had to opportunity to experience a new way of getting permanent tattoos: "The world's first pain-free tattoo".
Instead of using traditional needles, CipherX's technology is based on ink-loaded microneedle array patches (MAPs) that dissolve into the skin, thereby releasing the ink. To enable controlled and consistent application of these MAPs, uPATCH customised a PLUS applicator specifically for their technology.
It was great to see so many people at the launch, with more than 100 attendees receiving their first pain-free microneedle tattoo, including Bart!
