Job description

As a Design Engineer, you play a key role in the development of medical products, from concept through to series production. You design injection-molded plastic components and assemblies and ensure they meet both functional and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with R&D, Quality, and external suppliers within an ISO 13485 environment.

What you will do specifically

In short

You will be responsible for the design and development of medical devices made for plastic injection moulding.

You will:

    • Design and develop medical plastic products using SolidWorks 

    • Apply Design for Injection Molding and Assembly (DFM/DFA) for series production 

    • Design in compliance with requirements for Class I and II medical devices 

    • Contribute to design and development activities within an ISO 13485 framework 

    • Prepare and maintain technical documentation (e.g. drawings, design inputs/outputs) 

    • Support prototyping, tooling, and initial production runs 

    • Collaborate with injection molders and toolmakers 

    • Support design reviews, verification, and validation activities 

    • Implement design changes through controlled change management processes 

Personal Profile

Must-haves

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field 

    • 5–10 years of experience as a design or mechanical engineer 

    • Extensive experience with injection-molded plastic products 

    • Excellent proficiency in SolidWorks 

    • Strong understanding of material selection, tolerances, and manufacturability 

    • Experience managing and collaborating with external suppliers 

    • Structured, quality-focused, and able to work independently 

Nice -to-haves

  • Experience with medical devices (Class I and/or II)
  • Experience working in an ISO 13485–regulated environment
