The uPATCH applicator is used for scientific research in the field of Drug Delivery!

A publication in Pharmaceutical Research, an official journal of @AAPS, titled “Intradermal Vaccination with PLGA Nanoparticles via Dissolving Microneedles and Classical Injection Needles ”,  featured the use of the  uPATCH  applicator to assess the penetration efficiency and dissolution behavior of dissolvable microneedle arrays ( dMNAs ).

Following the  initial  selection of a promising  dMNA  formulation, skin penetration and dissolution studies were performed using the  uPATCH  applicator. Based on these results, which  demonstrated  poor MN dissolution (Fig. 4a-c), the formulation ratios were  optimized  to improve microneedle performance and thereby drug delivery (Fig. 4d-e). In addition, these evaluations play a key role in refining drug loading strategies.

We are proud to see the  uPATCH  technology contributing to scientific research and supporting the advancement in intradermal drug delivery systems!

The research was conducted by researchers from the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research at Leiden University, in collaboration with the Tyndall National Institute.
